Calendar Desktop Wallpaper for December 2011.

You’ll find my monthly Calendar Wallpapers designs (1024px x 768px) as Desktop images to download on my facebook page. After you have ‘liked’ the page, you can download the wallpaper under the ‘welcome’ tab. Enjoy!

Capturando Momentos – Nov 2011

Rebe og Eva hjá spænsku barna ljósmynda síðunni „Capturando Momentos“ tóku viðtal við mig um barnaljósmyndirnar mínar. Þær spurðu mig m.a. hvenær og hvernig ég leiddist út í ljósmyndun, hvað hrifi mig við að mynda börn og um lýsinguna í myndunum mínum.

Viðtalið má lesa hér hvort sem er á spænsku eða ensku (Til að lesa ensku útgáfuna þarf að scrolla niður fyrir spænska textann).

Rebe & Eva by the spanish photography blog “Capturando Momentos” interviewed me about my childrens photography. Among other things they asked me about when and how I got interested in photography, what fascinated me about photographing children and how I achieve the light in my images.

The Portfolio Pro – Nov 2011

Nýlega tók Luís Cerqueira viðtal við mig fyrir „Portfolio Pro“ grúppuna á flickr. Portfolio Pro grúppan býður upp á keppnir, er með viðtöl og gagnrýni.

Ég svaraði spurningum um vinnulag mitt, Lensbaby linsuna, barnaljósmyndun og ýmislegt fleira, það má lesa viðtalið hér.

Ég tók þessar myndir fyrir Yellow Bird Project af handprjónaðri ullarpeysu úr íslenskri ull sem seld er í takmörkuðu upplagi á síðunni þeirra.

Yellow Bird Project eru samtök sem leiða saman góð málefni, flotta stuttermaboli og Indie tónlistarfólk. Hljómlistarfólk á borð við Bon Iver og Yann Tiersen hefur hannað fyrir þá stuttermaboli sem YBP sér um að framleiða og selja, allur ágóði af sölu bolsins fer til góðs málefnis að vali tónlistarmannanna.

Það má t.d. kynna sér samtökin og skoða stuttermabolina betur á heimasíðu YBPog á Facebook síðu þeirra. Á facebook síðunni þeirra eru nokkrar myndir í viðbót sem ég tók.

YBP is a organization that brings together Indie bands, cool T-shirt designs and good causes. Musicians like Bon Iver and Yann Tiersen have designed T-shirts for the YBP. YBP produces and sells the T-shirt, and all the profits go to a good cause of the musicans choice.

Viking Horses

Ég vann þetta lógó fyrir nýopnaða hestatengdu ferðaþjónustuna og hestaleiguna Viking Horses sem er staðsett í Kópavogi, skammt frá Elliðavatni. Ég tók einnig nokkrar kynningarmyndir fyrir þau, sjá nokkrar hér að neðan.

Það er stundum vísað til íslenska hestsins sem víkingahests. Íslenska kynið kom hér fyrir um rúmlega þúsund árum og hefur lítið blandast öðrum tegundum síðan. Síðan á 12. öld er allur innflutningur á hestum bannaður til Íslands. Æðstan allra víkingahesta mætti kalla Sleipni, áttfættan hest Óðins æðstan norrænu guðanna. Fyrirmynd af merkinu er sótt í fornar myndir af Sleipni.

Það eru margar skemmtilegar sögur til af Sleipni, ég man eftir einni úr æsku þar sem ég ólst upp á norðausturlandi. Sá fallegi dalur Ásbyrgi á að hafa orðið til þegar Sleipnir reið þar yfir í loftinu og snerti jörðina með einum hóf.

Logo I made for the brand new horse rental Viking Horses, wich is in Kópavogur, only 15 minutes drive from Reykjavíks center. I also shot a few promotional photos for them, see a few here under the post.

There is a bit of a story behind the logo. Icelandic horses are sometimes referred to as viking horses. They have been selectively bred since they came to Iceland a little more than 1000 years ago. Iceland is an island, and there is no import of horses allowed since the 12th century. The icelandic horse is therefore I understand as close to the original viking horses as you can get. You could say that the ‘ultimate’ viking horse can be found in nordic mythology, Sleipnir, the eight legged horse of the chief of the nordic gods, Odinn. The logo is based on old drawings of Sleipnir.

There are many stories of Sleipnir, one I know from childhood is that Ásbyrgi a beautiful horseshoe shaped valley, in the North East of Iceland, was formed when Sleipnir, who rides in the air, touched the ground with one foot.
