My name is Salbjörg, called Dalla and I’m a photographer and designer in Reykjavík, Iceland.

After studying Media Art and Design at the Bauhaus University in Weimar, Germany I moved back home to Reykjavík in 2007. Since then I have been working independently on various projects as a photographer and designer for and with individuals, various institutions, companies, museums, web design agencies and ad agencies.

In the last few years I have f.ex. worked on the following exhibitions as a graphic designer: „Samtal – Dialogue“ about the life of Vigdís Finnbogadóttir, the worlds first democratically elected female president (Veröld 2017, Nordatlantens Brygge 2020), „Viking Animals“ at the Settlement exhibition in Aðalstræti, Reykjavík and for the Icelandic Museum of Natural History „VATNIÐ, í náttúru Íslands“ in Perlan.

In recent years the focus has naturally shifted to environmental issues.

In 2017 with a fine group of people, established, branded and managed the not-for-profit organisation „Plastic Free September“ in Iceland (Inspired by Australias Plastic Free July). The project is in full swing and our website „“ will soon be translated into more languages than icelandic. The initiative can be found on both facebook and instagram.

In June 2018 we, a group of four neighbours, enthusiastically opened the first plastic free shop in Iceland „Vistvera“ eco store wich we ran together until late 2019. From late 2019 – 2020 my cousin and I ran Vonarstræti, an eco store in centrum Reykjavík. Every neighborhood should have at least one bulk shop!
