With Glói & Fróði testing the Edge 80

Testing my new Edge 80 wich Lensbaby just sent me. I use the Composer Pro quite a lot so I was really excited to try the Edge 80 wich has more of a linear blur whereas the doubleglass I’ve been using with the Composer has a circular blur. I’m loving the Edge so far. Here are a few examples from today, as I was picking my boys up from school.

Lovely work as always Dalla! Did you find it easier to control the sweet spot with the Edge vs the Composer?

Thank you Steve!

No, not really, I’m still getting used to it, but I find it rather easy to control just as the Double Glass.

You probably know this but just in case, The Edge (Linear) is an optic wich you screw on the Composer Pro, just as the Double Glass (Circular) is an optic you screw on the Composer Pro. I didn’t quite realize this myself untill I got The Edge and had to swop optics. So it’s the same base and control mechanism, but the glass is different.

I will need to practise a bit though to get crisp focus, it doesn’t seem to ‘lie’ in the exactly same plane as the Double Glass.

Dalla,
the pictures of your sons look great, I very much like this lens effect. I think it goes very well with the situation you are shooting. Your way home from school looks like a lot of fun.
