Rauðisandur in the southern Westfjords of Iceland, quiet, wide and otherworldly. We loved it.
We learned a few things. One of us found out sand feels better between your toes than in your, nose, mouth and ears. Another one realized hats are good to wear in the sun but not as much in the wind.
And we were all grateful that we had already learned that it’s a good idea to carry a backpack with water, blanket and warm clothes at all times.
